Hi there,

I am working on to replace all the old network equipments in the office.

Any advice will be really helpful.

1. I am using PIX 520, I know PIX already EOL, what product can I replace it? ASA 5000 series?

2. I am using C3524 inline power for my IP phony system. which is better to replace it? 3560-E or 3750-E?

3. With the answer in (2), what will be the suitable Wireless AP to support?

Regards,

Donald

Hello Donald,

Few questions before I can make a general guess.

1. How many users will be using this system, and what would the call volume be?

2. On the wireless end, how many persons will be accessing the point, what security measures would you desire, and approximately how far do you want the signal to travel?

3. What phones are you currently using and do you want to keep them in place?

4. What connectivity do you currently have in place (this will determine the modules needed).

Let me know and I'll create a general idea for you. If you like feel free to email me below as well.

Best wishes,

Chris Cramer

You should think about what features you want to support also? Do you want to have SRST? If you do, you have to know how many phones before the better models support more phones under SRST.

A lot of the answers depend on number of phones, features. This goes the same for the switches, firewall, etc.

hope this helps.
