I have a VMware-based network I want to VLAN off from my regular network. It sits behind a C3750G switch. I also need it to trunk over to my C6509 switch which has an older IOS (v6.3(1)). So far, nothing I've tried has been successful, bith trunking and VLANs.
Can someone post the commands or config I need for each switch to successfully create the VLAN between the switches?
Thanks!

HI
First determime which switch is acting as a VTP server.Assuming u r 6509 to be vtp server configure u r 3750 as a vtp client.
connect a link from u r 6509 to 3750 and configure it as a trunk link.
on 6509 if u r having catos then u can configure like this
set trunk mod/port on dot1q/ISL
and on IOS
go int the interface mode
conf t
interface interfacename
switchport mode trunk
switch port trunk encapsulation dot1q/isl
Thanks
