IP SLA and Loopback 0 interface

Greetings from Poland,

is there any chance to use virtual interface (i.e. loopback 0) for the IP SLA feature of cisco routers? I would like to set a public ip address for this interface and would like to test www, dns and my core network.

Thanks in advanced,

ZO

If you mean source the IP SLA probes from a loopback interface, this is certainly possible. For example, if you want to measure the latency between the device, and a WWW server, 10.1.1.1, and your loopback IP is 1.1.1.1:

ip sla 113

http get http://10.1.1.1/ source-ip 1.1.1.1

You can even specify a source interface name instead of an IP address.
