Setup redundant LMS2.6 server

Is this a good way of working :

I plan the following.

I install Two servers : the primary server(A) and a secondary (B) server (so also 2 licenses). A is up and manages the network. The CW on B is down and is used as backup. Every day a backup made on A is copied to B and restored (use start/<restore>/stop). So when A should fail, B can be used to go up. Question : The license on A is also backed up. What about the restore on B. Do I have to do some tricks and save a copy of license B before the restore, to overwrite the resored license.

In other words, will this workflow work?

This is a very messy thing to do. The license is actually the least of your worries. There is a lot of hostname information backed up as well. Unless these servers will be identical in terms of hostname and IP address (i.e. only one will be active on the production network at any given time) then you will have to go through the hostname/IP address change procedure (see http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps3996/products_user_guide_chapter09186a008022f962.html#wp1078582) each time you do the restore to server B.

If the servers will have the same hostname and IP address, then just backup the *.lic files under NMSROOT/etc/licenses on server B, and copy them back after the restoration from server A.
