Dear Pros,
I have a customer who has bought HP DL380 G4 servers with specs not exactly matching the Cisco recommendations in the HP Server solutions document.
The server specs are -
HP DL380 G4 with Dual Xeon
3.2Ghz*2 Xeon Processors
4GB Ram (512MB*4modules + 1GB*2modules)
72GB 10K RPM HDD * 2
While Cisco recommends on the pdf -
HP DL380 G4 with Dual Xeon
3.4Ghz*2 Xeon Processors
4GB Ram (1GB*4modules)
72GB 15K RPM HDD * 2
The part numbers of the server is also not matching although being a DL380 G4.
The part nos whatever I could collect are -
293765-001 --server
404709-001 -- HDD
343056-B21 -- Ram
337273-001 -- DVD Rom Drive
OS 2000.4.4 which came along could not be installed as it detected CPU speed less than 3.4Ghz and so we used 2000.2.7.
My question is will Cisco support this configuration. We are in process of buying 3.4Ghz CPUs for the servers.
Regards,
Pratik

Hi,
I think that Cisco is not going to support that configuration, because the new recommend HP servers are DL380G5.
Hope this helps,

Never fear it does not work on new server with 3.6mhz procs which is better than the recommended 3.4mhz. Is there a switch to tell it to ignore hardware like in older versions?
