FWSM and 6500 Loopback interface (Management)

I made the following test:

One machine using VLAN2 with the ip address The FWSM inside interface is using The VLAN2

is associated with the Firewall Module.

If I create a loopback for management in the 6500 switch, for example I thought I will have access and not pass throught the Firewall cause is just a L2 exchange packets, not L3. But it isn?t happened .. Any idea or tip why it isn?t working.

Hi Andre

I'm a little confused about your setup. If you have a vlan2 with and the FWSM is using then how did you create a loopback on the 6500 switch with an address of Surely when you tried to create the loopback and bring it up the switch complained about an overlapping address range ?

Am i misunderstanding something ?
