i have interface connected to cable modem,i have noticed command under the interface

like:IP NBAR Proptocol-Discovery

what this does

Hi Ali

NBAR stands for Network based application recognition.

Specifically "ip nbar protocol-discovery" is a way of discovering the protocols and applications runnning on your network and then you can use this information in conjunction with QOS.

To view the output of the protocol discovery you can use

"sh ip nbar protocol-discovery"
