Hi all, when configuring access lists in my router, what is the differenct if I use, access-list, or ip access-list ?

Hi, carl

Use "access-list" to configure a standard or an extended ACL. ACL configured this way can only identified by a number, and the number you can use is limited (1~99 ,100~199 for example)

Use "ip access-list" to configured a named ACL which could be either a standard or extended ACL. ACLs configured this way can have a name to identify them. The number of name you can use is unlimited.
