The two routers ar102 and ar101 are configured very very similarly. In fact ar101 is doing more work than ar102, because it is the active HSRP router for several sub-interfaces. But it is always that ar102 that is crashing and always in SNMP ENGINE and always during weekends which is when CiscoWorks is polling these devices. Customer is asking why ar101 never crashes but ar102 crashes although CiscoWorks polls both for exactly the same SNMP querries.

Hi,
crashes are software bugs that can happen depending on a variety of conditions.
I have't looked at your specific case, but even if the configuration, IOS and SNMP query are the same, it is quite possible that one router crashes and the other doesn't. Why is that, for example different memory usage, traffic patters makes so that the data structure becomes very different among apparently idential routers.
So you best choice is to upgrade the crashing router only to 12.2(40) if you want to stay with 12.2, and if it keeps crashing and you don't want to upgrade any further, open a case with the TAC.
