we have a problem with 7940 ip phone

whenever we power on "invalid application protocol" error comming on universal loader

And not a single key functioning

Connect to DHCP / TFTP server that has log.

Press # when powering, release, then press 1234567890*#.

Observe TFTP request and make sure the phone is getting all the requested files.

Hi I have seen that problem many times. It is kind of firmware problem I think.

There is solution for that problem. Read about boot up process from tftp and share the needed files for the phone.

I'm using the following:

1. OS79XX.TXT - whish contains only that in the brackets (P003-08-4-00)

2. XMLDefault.cnf.xml - you have to change the name of the firmware again inside

3. P003-08-4-00.sbn

4. P0S3-08-4-00.sb2

5. P0S3-08-4-00.loads

6. P003-08-4-00.bin

I think that is enough but you may need SEPDefault and SEPmac-address files.

Be careful with P00 and POS.
