I was looking to upgrade some Cisco3750G switches to the latest IOS version and would like to upgrade the ROMmon software to the latest version also. I have recieved a new 3750 switch with a newwer ROMmon version on it can the ROMmon be copied from the switch and if so how.
Where do you find the 3750 ROMmon downloads.

Hello,
You cannot copy or upgrade the rommon on 3750 switches. Rommon is pre-loaded from the factory and it cannot be field upgraded by any software upgrades.

Thanks, so since the 3750 switch ROMmon can not be upgraded then will the latest IOS versions work with any 3750 switch no matter what the ROMmon version?
I also have the same questions for 3550 switches.

Hi there,
I am in the same lane as your self, i am trying to do so for a Cisco 2600 router, i found the following procedure, but it didn't work for me, may be it'll work for you:
> rommon 4 > IP_ADDRESS=
> rommon 5 > IP_SUBNET_MASK=
> rommon 6 > DEFAULT_GATEWAY=
> rommon 7 > TFTP_SERVER=
> rommon 8 > TFTP_FILE= c2600-i-mz.123-22.bin
> rommon 9 > sync
> rommon 10 > tftpdnld -u

Byron,
I believe Amit is correct. Rommon software isn't upgradeable on 3750 switches.
