PBX Ports going into a Port Trouble State

Have a 3845 router with VIC2-2E/M cards connected to Fujitsu 9600 PBX. Randomly the ports on the Fujitsu will go into a Port Trouble state. The ports on the 3845 router show idle. Cannot duplicate in testing. If you reset the ports on the PBX then they will come back up. Any ideas?

IOS on the 3845 ?

I would try upgrading and if problem still there, check/change timings on the E&M port.
