Recover PIX config after "write erase" and "reload" commands

Answered Question

Hi

I would like to know if it is possible to recover a PIX config after a write erase command and reload performed.

We have replaced our PIX 515E's with ASA 5510's and are planning to sell the 515E's.

We are worried about security leaks if the erased config's can be recovered in any way.

Thank you,

Petrus Nel

There wont be any issues. Once you have done "wr erase" & Reload, you cant recover the config. Feel free to sell out your PIX-515Es.

Hope that helps.
