When I do a copy runn start, it comes up with


copying file 7888 and compressed to 1433.


Please what is this and if and when I do an upgrade, will this be affected?


This is an a Cat 4510 IOS

There is an optional service to compress the config file. the command is service compress-config. It is used when the size of the config file gets so large that it may not fit into NVRAM. It looks like you have this service enabled. Check your config and see if it includes service compress-config.

Given what appears to be the size of the config in your post I do not believe that you need service compress-config. But having it on does no harm either. So you it is ok to continue with it (and probably no harm if you remove it). So no harm either way.
