I have about 300 CTI ports that are sitting in the Default device pool. I'd like to move these to their own custom Device Pool, and use "Default" for testing and auto-registration.
Can I simply rename the "Default" device pool and then re-create it, or will CallManager complain? Unfortunately I do not have a lab environment to test this. CCM 4.1(3)sr4b

Yes, you can rename it,Im able to change it without any problems...
or u may use BAT tool. Select Phone|Update Phones and from there you can query your 300 CTI Ports and in bulk assign a new Device Pool.

Yep, did this last night and it worked fine. BAT would work too, was just thinking simplest and quickest solution.
