I have a Cisco 2650, NM-16a configured as a console server. There a 4 or 5 older SPARC machines being access via the serial port. A new server v20z was recently added. If I used the standard rollover (blue) cable from Cisco, I can access the server, but it I try to use the router, the console server. The connection try hangs as if it?s waiting for a signal. Has anyone use these new servers and what was done to make them work?

I think the serial port on the back of the V20 machine requires a db9 female to RJ45 adaptor which is properly configured. A straight through Cat 6 ivory cable terminated with RJ45s at both ends should be used to connect the adaptor to the overhead data panel and connect the patch panel to the port on the console server.

Sound right, but what I believe I need, is the pinout of the RJ-45 adaptor.
