Caller ID Display

Hello Guys,

The receptionist receives an incoming call and transfers the call to the appropriate destination number but what the called party (end user) sees as calling party number is the receptionist?s 4 digits number. What we need is to display the original caller ID to the destination called party. Could someone please help? The CCM is 4.1 and the GW is 2821

Thanks,

Only thing I could suggest here is for the receptionist to release the transfer immediately. With 4.1(3) you can enable the Transfer On-hook service parameter (see below) so that the end recipient sees the original calling party. Similar to what Unity does in an auto-attendant role.

Problem is, it only works when the actual handset is set back in the cradle. :(

Transfer On-hook Enabled : This parameter determines whether a call transfer completes as a result of the user going on-hook after initiating a transfer operation. Valid values specify True (user presses the Transf... softkey, dials the number to which the call should be transferred, and then presses the Transfr... softkey again or simply goes on-hook to complete the transfer operation) or False (user presses the Transf... softkey, dials the number to which the call should be transferred, and then presses the Transf... softkey again to complete the transfer operation).

This is a required field.

Default: false.

I enabled the Transfer On-hook service but we still don't see the original calling party's number. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

The receptionist has to hang up after she transfers the call. So, the action should be:

hit transfer softkey > enter ext > hang up

the target should see what the receptionist saw originally.

this will also work by simply doing

transfer softkey > enter ext > hit transfer again
