Cisco 851 - FE4 line protocol down

Hi,

I have a weird problem where a Cisco 851's FE4 port will randomly bring the line protocol down - We have replaced cables, tried 3 seperate 851's and also 3 different IOS versions - To recover, it requires a shut/no shut to be issued under FE4.

What would cause the 851 to bring the line protocol down?(Fast 4 is always in a state of "up"...only the line protocol goes down) - Are there any debug options I can use to provide me with some more info?

Excuse me if this is obvious. Is the port hardcoded in _both_ duplex and speed ?

Yes - Port hardcoded to 100 full.

Problem has been resolved - It was a faulty port on providers switch.
