VPN Client Slow Performance

I'm running VPN Client 4.02 (B) on a Windows 2000 machine. Launching the client takes about 15 minutes before the client dialog appears on the screen. While trying to bring up the GUI, the CPU is completely consumed with the VPNGUI process. After the client screen comes up the client seems to work normally, connection can be established, performance appears fine, etc.

Any ideas on the cause?

Have you tried a newer version of the VPN Client?

The latest stable version is 4.8.02, so your version is quite old!

You can find the latest VPN Clients here (you may need to login with your CCO account): http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/windows
