using eigrp with isdn

Hi all, if I have a router with a serial and isdn for backup, how would I setup eigrp so it doesnt use the isdn, I know to use the passive interface command, but would i have to use a static route to it with a higher admin distance than eigrp case the main serial went down ?

Yes, if you chose to not use EIGRP on theat link then you would use a floating static route with an AD greater than the EIGRP route. Why don't you want to use EIGRP on the ISDN?

i dont want to use it because it will keep bringing up the isdn which is a pay per use service

I do the same thing with floating static routes but I use wireless bridges as my backup instead of ISDN.

You can use an access list to ensure eigrp is not interesting traffic;

access-list 100 deny eigrp any any

access-list 100 permit ip any any

dialer-list 1 protocol ip list 100
