DTMF not being recognized on MGCP controlled PRI

Has anyone had any DTMF issues with a PRI using MGCP on an ISR router?

I have CallManager 5.1(1) with a 2821 12.4(9)T2 router configured for MGCP with a 2-Port MFT terminating a PRI.

The Telco is passing us 4 digits and that works fine to invoke the AA played by Unity but you are not able to select any of the user options because the DTMF tones are not being received by Unity.

When you dial the AA extension internaly - works fine and you can select the AA options.

Hi Todd,

This seems like quite a common problem, usually related to DTMF tones not being properly passed. I have attached 3 threads that deal with this issue and were resolved by changing the DTMF Relay setting on the Gateway. Have a read;

I have verified that the command

mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode out-of-band is set in the MGCP config of the 2811. We even tried mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode nte-gw and mode cisco - to effect on the lack of DTMF on the PRI.

I am about to make this 2811 an H.323 gatewat and see if the dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric command in the voip dial peer has any effect.

Any other thoughts?
