User Tracking Issue

In the User Tracking Report the attached clients shows the port and switch that are connected. The Problem is, that sometime the IP address and sometime DNS name are in the report. All devices are in DNS. I can ping with DNS name - no problem. I want, that alle devices are shown with DNS name. Did anybody have an idea what the problem could be?

You will need to verify the IPs with missing DNS info using the resolver.pl tool. That is:


NMSROOT/bin/perl NMSROOT/bin/resolver.pl


If this works, then UT should be able to get the hostname. But there have been bugs in the past, so getting up to the latest version of Campus Manager (currently 4.0.8) may help.

Thank you for your update.


All switches resolved the correct DNS name and IP address. We run CM 4.0.8.


Now we try to reinit the ANI Server DB. I'll give you feedback if it works after the reinitation.

After reinit of the DB the DNS Name or now resolved correctly. It help sometime...
