VPN response is too slow

Hai,

I have created a site to site VPN between my two offices.Both side having enough bandwidth for the links.Due the same Local IP pool at both my sites,I'm NATTing the Local IP of one of site to a different IP and routing it.Now I have a problem that the reponse of ftp as well as other accesses is too slow.Is it due to the NATTing or Is there any way to check and correct this.

Bandwidth and latency are 2 different things. If latency is high, some applications will perform poorly. What do the ping times look like between sites?
