Hello,
I am trying to restore a router config file using copy tftp://ipaddress/filename.cfg startup-config and keep getting an error
%error opening tftp://ipaddress/filename (Not enough space)

sure can. Just go into config mode and paste it in. I would do it in chunks so you can see if anything fails and why. But as long as you are using a feature set similar to what you where using you should be ok.

Try copying it into running-config first and then enable "service compress-config" and then "copy running start". My guess is that the file may be too big for NVRAM.

I have tried coping to running-config
I have tried erase startup-config
The config file is only 2K

Why not just paste it in from notepad into the terminal emulator?

can you do paste the entire config?
