Cisco 1500 power tap

Hi,

I want to deploy some 1500APs around my campus, using the street light power taps. My facilities group says that the lights are 277 VAC. The Cisco power tap is only rated from 120-260 VAC.

It was suggested I use a step down transformer ahead of the power tap. Has anyone done this and could you elaborate on how you did it?

Thanks,

Ray

All APs on remote light poles are enclosed in NEMA enclosures and are powered either through solar battery units and/or step-down transformers from the light pole power feed depending on that particular DC environment layout.

Thanks for the reply.

My issue is that the power tap from Cisco is only rated up to 260VAC. Our lights are at 277VAC. So I want to know if I can use a step down transformer to bring the power from the light down to a level where it won't burn out the power tap.
