Hi,
after some activity on my PC (installed/uninstalled a program), I've a problem with my VPN Client, which does not start anymore, giving the error:
------------------------------
Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem. Please make sure that you have at least one network interface that is currently active and has an IP address and start this application again.
------------------------------
I actually have an active network adapter. See the result of ipconfig /all:

Stop/restart of the Cisco VPN service didn't solve the problem.
This is the list of adapters that I can see in the MTU setting box:
1394 Connection
dial-up networking
Local Area Connection
Local Area Connection 3
Local Area Connection 4
Wireless Network Connection
all set to MTU option 1300.
Among the adapters listed above, I noticed "Local Area Connection 3", that does not exist on my system network connections.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
thanks

Symptom: With the vpn client 4.0.x installed on a Windows XP (tablet edition), whenever the vpn dialer is opened we get an error "System Error: IPC Socket allocation failed with error ffffffff8h" and then it cannot go out to the DHCP server and get
an ip address
Workaround: There is no known workaround at this time
I'm not sure if it's an exact match.

Well... I don't think the case described there is the same as mine.
Any other idea?
thanks

Does anybody knows at least how to solve this problem?
Unistalling and re-installing the VPN Client wasn't a solution.
thanks

Try these :
1: If its a Dell laptop and if yu have Embassy Wave Suite installed, you have to uninstall it as its not compatible with Cisco client.
2: Make sure in services, Windows Firewall/ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is turned off.
3: To fix the error with TCP/IP stack, you can use this utility :

Hope this helps.
