I have swapped IP addresses between hosts space-s and apollo7-s on DNS servers. Only 3750 insist on old values in its hosts table. There is not possible to ping apollo7-s from 3750 by name. It is possible by number only.

ss-s01-1#sh hosts

Default domain is fzu.cz

Name/address lookup uses domain service

Name servers are 147.231.26.154, 147.231.126.127

...

Host Port Flags Age Type Address(es)

...

space-s.fzu.cz None (temp, OK) 17 IP 10.26.202.33

apollo7-s.fzu.cz None (temp, OK) 0 IP 10.26.202.30

! Old values ^^^^

...

ss-s01-1#sh ver

Cisco IOS Software, C3750 Software (C3750-IPBASEK9-M), Version 12.2(25)SEE2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

ss-a2p7#sh hosts

Default domain is fzu.cz

Name/address lookup uses domain service

Name servers are 147.231.26.154, 147.231.126.127

...

Host Port Flags Age Type Address(es)

...

apollo7-s.fzu.cz None (temp, OK) 0 IP 10.26.202.33

! New value ^^^^ (IP ...30 is not working at present)^^.

Thanks,

Tomas

Try clear host {name | *} command to remove one or all entries from the hostname and the address cache.
