CCNP required CCNA

I passed CCNA and the certificate validity completed in DEC2006 now I am planning to write CCNP can I write directly CCNP or weather I want to write again CCNP?

I have this problem too.

Hi Brandon,

Even my CCNA certification expired in 2005, i came to know from one of my friend that one can write CCNP if he/she has got 2-3yrs of exp in networking.

Let me know if you have any idea on this.

Neelsin,

You can certainly take the CCNP exams, but you cannot achieve the CCNP certification with an expired CCNA. You will have to retake the CCNA at some point in order to get CCNP.
