Catalyst 6000 QoS

Hi, I want to mark the multicast video traffic from a server to DSCP EF and define a strict priority queue for this traffic.

How can I do that in a Catalyst 6000 with CatOS?

I have this problem too.

I had read it, but I haven't found any examples.

So I will mark the video traffic with an ACL to dscp EF and map to the server interface.

Is it enough to have a strict priority for this traffic in all the catalyst ports with this capability?

Is it necessary in this case define queue thresholds or not?

Can your media server apply a dot1p marking to the frames? If so then this would be the best way to do it, then configure the 6500 to trust qos on the port that the server is attached to.

If you're trying to use a 6500 to terminate a WAN connection and get prioritisation working on that port then this is a bit different, you might nee to use LLQ on the MSFC as well.
