Hi all, if I wanted to advertise a default route into ospf and also my other static routes, would i use default information originate and redistribute static both together ?

Carl,
If you have a static default route and want it to get redistributed into OSPF, then you would need both of the above commands.
The default-information-originate command check for the existence of defaut route in the routing table before it injects into OSPF. When you use the Always keyword along wth the above command, then it will inject a default route irrespective of whether a defaut route exists in the routing table
HTH, rate if it does

could i just not use the redistribute static command to get out all my routes including the default ?

You cannot with OSPF
