OSPF and VLAN/ unpingable next hop

Hello

Could somebody help me?

In this network: PC>>C2900XL>>R1721>>R2523

I can't ping the R2323 router from the PC.

This is my PC config(no firewall):

172.16.1.18

255.255.255.240

172.16.1.1

In attach you can find the configs from both routers and the switch.

I can ping the default gateway, the interface between the switch and the R1721 and also the serial on R1721 but I can't ping the next hop.

I see that int Vlan 2 is admin down but when I try to do shut/no shut it won't come up.

PS On the R2523 there is a second router and all routers are pingable from any destination.

Hi there,

I think there are authentication and routing problems. You can check R2523 routing table to ensure that it knows how to go 172.x.x.x network.

Before doing that try to enter

ip ospf authentication-key jupiler

command on the R1721 router.

I just found the prob.

The auth is ok but I used the OSPF on a 172.168.x.x instead of 172.16.x.x
