lacp load balancing options

I'm configuring lacp/802.3ad channels between a Cisco 3550 switch and an Extreme network switch. I would like to use source IP as the criteria for load balancing across the channel group but cannot find any mention of this capability in the Cisco CCO. Only references are to Cisco etherchannel which load balances on MAC address only.

Is this a limitation on the 802.3ad implementation on Cisco, or is there a way to specifiy IP address as well as MAC address as load balancing options.

Many thanks in advance for any responses.

Chris,

3550 switch only has Source-MAc or destination-MAC options for load-balancing. If you want to load-balance based on source IP, Please enable the load-balancing mode as " Source-MAC".

When source-MAC address forwarding is used, load distribution based on the source and destination IP address is also enabled for routed IP traffic. All routed IP traffic chooses a port based on the source and destination IP address. Packets between two IP hosts always use the same port in the channel, and traffic between any other pair of hosts can use a different port in the channel.
