syslog output if Spanning Tree is disabled

Can a port with Spanning Tree Protocol disabled generate the following syslog message:

Mar 30 10:19:39 192.168.100.4 2007 Mar 30 09:19:53 EST -5:00 %PAGP-5-PORTFROMSTP:Port 8/17 left bridge port 8/17

Mar 30 10:19:57 192.168.100.4 2007 Mar 30 09:19:53 EST -5:00 %PAGP-5-PORTTOSTP:Port 8/17/joined bridge port 8/17

This message is generated when u un-plug or plug a device attached to that particular port.

So it will be generated even if Spanning Tree Protocol is disabled on that port?
