HI!

WE HAVE DS Switch 4507;I need to advertise 2 network 100.100.0.0

& 172.16.1.2 Via EIGRP!

Also i have 10 SVIs:

100.100.50.1-100.100.60.1

is this a good config on the DS?

ROUTER EIGRP 10

network 100.100.0.0 0.0.255.255

network 172.16.1.2 0.0.0.0

passive interface default

no passive inbterface port-channel 4

no auto-summary

core side:

network 172.16.1.1 0.0.0.0

Hello Ali,

I see that you want to run EIGRP between Core and the DS switches.

How is the connectivity between core switches and DS switches. If the connectivity is using the "port-channel 4" then the config is OK.

If you are using some other interface to connect to the core switch from the DS side, then I am afraid that the config will not work.As you are using "passive interface default " command under the EIGRP configuration, this will prevent EIGRP to form neighbor relationship between the switches other than " port-channel 4".

So just make sure about the interface connecting the switches and configure the passive interfaces accordingly.

Hi Amit!

yes!

EIGRP between the CORE<6509> & the DS<4507R>;

THE interface connected to the CORE IS PORT-Channel 4

now any suggestion?

Hi Ali,

As you mentioned "you need to advertise 2 network 100.100.0.0 & 172.16.1.2 Via EIGRP" but you are advertising 172.16.1.2 completely and not a network. So EIGRP will be activated only on that interface who has been configured with 172.16.1.2 ip address and not on 172.16.x.x network.

If that is your requirement then you are good to go because on your core also I see you are enabling eigrp for 172.16 network on single interface.

Rest as Amit mentioned about passive interface go ahead and check the dist and core is connected via which interfaces.

Ankur

Ankur My Freind!

Network 172.16.1.2 is address of the port-channel interface 40 at DS Side!

Network 172.16.1.1 is address of the port-channel interface 40 at Core Side.

do i need the passive interface or the config work fine without this passive

Ali,

You dont have to configure the port-channel interface as passive interface. Dont do that otherwise you will loose the adjacency with the neighbor. The config is fine for network 172.16.1.2 and .1 as you want the EIGRP to be run on these interfaces. The config done so far on DS is absolutely fine.

HI Amit

no amit the port-channel 40 is non-passive;

Config look like this:

EIGRP X

NETWORK 100.100.0.0 0.0.63.255

NETWORK 172.16.1.2 0.0.0.0

passive interface default

no passive-interface port-channel 40

no auto-summary

any suggestion?

Hi Ali,

Looks good now. It will form an adj between port channels and will advertise your other eigrp enabled networks from dist to core.

Ankur
