I have a SOHO 97

Router and IOS Information

Router Model : SOHO97

IOS Image Name : soho97-k9oy1-mz.123-8.T5.bin

IOS Version : 12.3(8)T5

for some reason, whenever the power is reset or the unit rebooted, it looses the configuration and reloads the default one. I have to use the console port and copy the config over again. I have issued a WRITE MEMORY which is successful, but the system will not load on restart - what am i doing wrong?

Can you post the "show version" output? I suspect the last line is something other than 0x2102.

If the router is new, after you configure it, you need to set the configuration register to 0x2102 which is shown in the last line of the "show version" output.

To set the configuration register to 0x2102;

Router# config t

Router(config)#config-register 0x2102

Save the config. The next time you reload or power cycle the router it will use configuration register 0x2102 and load the save config.

it was set to 0x242 - have reset to 0x212 jusr need to test now - many thanks
