Notify me when I forget a call-on-hold

Ok... I admit I forget stuff. I forget a lot! And I forget calls on-hold for minutes... Do you have any idea how I can configure CallManager 5.0(4) to notify me every XX seconds about the forgotten calls? Moreover, what if I have 2 or more calls on-hold? What if I use speakerphone? Can I set up a loud audible to play every XX secs?

Thanks,

Nikos

Hi Nikos,

The feature you want is called "Hold Reversion" The bad thing is that this feature is available on CCM 4.2 and not CCM 5.x Have a look;

The Hold Reversion feature alerts a phone user when a held call exceeds a configured time limit. When the held call duration exceeds the limit, Cisco Unified CallManager generates alerts, such as a ring or beep, at the phone to remind the user to handle the call. The held call becomes a reverted call when the hold duration exceeds the configured time limit.

The types of alerts that are generated at the phone for reverted calls depend on the capabilities of the phone device. Cisco Unified Call Manager provides the following alerts when the hold reversion feature activates, depending on the capabilities of the phone and the firmware release that is installed.

The phone rings once or beeps once.

The status line briefly displays "Hold Reversion" for the reverted call at the user phone.

The LED next to the line button flashes continuously on the phone handset, like other alerting operations.

A "wobbling" handset icon displays for a reverted call.

From this CCM 4.2.3 doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a008070e55c.html

From what I have read this "Hold Reversion" feature is available on the newest soon to be released CCM 6.X

Hope this helps!

Rob

Hi Rob,

thanks for your quick answer! Anyway, I've already read about Hold Reversion on 4.2 and also I've already used Call Park Reversion several times on different versions of CCM. Unfortunately - as you've already remarked- for unexplained reasons, Cisco has removed (?) the feature from version 5.0 which (glory to the great Murphy) is exactly the case!

Anyway, maybe I'll try some workaround....

Thanks again,

Nikos

CM 5.0 is based on features available in CM 4.0(2a) and therefore any feature which was added to CM 4.2, 4.3 might not be available in CM 5.0. AFAIK, CM 6.0 should have the Hold Reversion timer available
