Time problem and CME-Locale files for CME 4.0(0)

Unanswered Question

I have an issue in my London Office.

After the Daylight savings time the phones still display wintertime.

Time on 2801 with CME 4.0(0) is correct ( uses NTP ) time zone is correct

But still the 7941 phones refuse to use this time.

My guess is now that this is due to the fact that i do not use the correct locale ( or better no locale file at all)

So i try to find the UK en Locale files for CME 4.0(0) but am only able to download the CME 4.0(2) and 4.0(3) locale files.

2 Questions :

Can the time problem be the result of having no locale file on my TFTP server.

And where can i find the locale files for CME 4.0(0), or can i use the newer files as well ?

Problem is I am not onsite as i am located in the Netherlands. So i want to be sure that what i change is correct.

I have this problem too.

Yes you can use the 'earlier' files. These are nothing more that strings in java files for localization.

I'm not sure it has to do with the localization, I would check which firmware are you running on the phones as well.

Hi Maikel,

I think the problem with the Java based phones like the 7941 is that they require a firmware upgrade. Here is an excerpt from the Field Notice for CME;

Customers who are using the following Cisco Unified IP phone models:

are required to upgrade to the following phone firmware to display the correct time:

* CCME 3.X, 4.0 and 4.0(x) customers need to upgrade the phone load to 8.0(4)SR2.

* CCME 4.1 and 7931 customers need to upgrade the phone load to 8.2(1).

From this CME Field notice for DST;

Hope this helps!
