Can ciscoworks map ports on a switch, or do anything like that?

Is there an easy way to map devices on a switch with 96 or more ports?

What do you mean by map? CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution has the ability to display a graphical representation of a switch showing all ports (CiscoView). This tool allows one to change port attributes like speed, duplex, VLAN, etc. There are also more large-scale tools to do port-based configuration across many ports at once.

LMS also offers a layer 2 topology map which shows a CDP/ILMI based view of the network. From that map you can drill into a switch, and bring up the same CiscoView display. You can also do VLAN port assignments on a large number of ports from this same mapping tool.

What I mean by map as in a switchport mapper.

Map hardware addresses to IP Addresses.

So you can document what device is on which port easily.

Can this be done in CiscoWorks?

Absolutely. This is the main function of the User Tracking application within CiscoWorks Campus Manager.
