Catalyst 3550 48 port. error on POST

Hey,

I have a brand new Cat 3550 48 port switch that I just took out of the box to setup. When i plug it in, all lights on all ports turn on solid and stay solid. The switch just sits there frozen with all LEDS being solid. Nothing in the console window, no flashing LEDS, nothing. Whats up?? Any ides?

Hi Jer,

Try changing the console speed on your terminal and see if you get something on console.

Try changing different consoole cable and see if you get soemthing on console.

If no luck its a bad box and you can returen it back to cisco if you have a valid contract.

Try changing the terminal server to other than hypertermial. If all is Ok and you have checked, your switch is faulty, return it.

Will Cisco accept an RMA return from me even tho I bought it from ebay and have no original invoice for the unit ?
