Hi,
This error will appear if;
- the IOS image is corrupted
- the IOS image is not in the path specified
- no IOS image in the FLASH to load
Download a copy of IOS image an load it using XMODEM http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_tech_note09186a008015bfac.shtml
Take note of the minimum DRAM and FLASH recommended for the IOS image selected.

Hi Medan,
Thanks for the info.
Finally we could locate that is due to bad DRAM.
isco 3640 has a 4 banks of memory.
first 2 bank had a 32 MB DRAM,out of that one memory module is faulty.
What we did is we popoulate the bank 0 and bank 1 with the 16 MB module,so total 32 mb,then bank 2 and bank 3 with the existing 32 mb memory module(in these two 32 mb memory module which is faulty is not able to locate)
The Cisco 3640 will support the maximum of 128 MB.
it should be in the following manner
64 mb 2 module for 128 MB
32 MB 2 module for 64 MB
we can not have the combination 32 and 64,etc.
Thanks and Regards,
