Encryption on 7206 Router

Hi,

i am using a 7206 router with the Boot ldr 7200 Software (C7200-KBOOT-M), Version 12.1(8a)E.

currently m using Single DES with 56bit key length. is it possible for me to configure 3DES or AES with 128 bit key length with the same ios?

Hi, boot loader doesn't matter, please look at the IOS by "show ver". With your IOS the avaiable cypher strength will show if you type ?

after "crypto ipsec transform-set whatever".

Also keep in mind that so far nobody has ever broken into DES.
