just wondering if anybody can answer these questions for me..
with a CAT6500 using both the Content Switch and FW modules, is it possible to virtualize these so you can effectively separate customers using the same content switch / FW module? i'm pretty sure you can do it with the FWSM, but what about the CSS module? if it is possible, what supervisor is required? thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob
You are right in that you can truly virtualise the FWSM and have separate contexts, each context being a separate firewall. So you can allocate a firewall per customer.
You cannot do the same with the Content Switch Module. If you want to use contexts in the same way as on the FWSM you would need to look at the relatively new ACE modules which do use separate contexts.

thanks Jon,
Does that mean i'll need an ACS module AND the CSS module?

No, you would just need the ACE (Application Control Engine) module.
Attached is a link to the data sheet.

I have used the CSM, CSM-S modules but not this one as yet.
