Counterfeit AIR-MP21G-A-K9 Upgrade module?

I've now seen several posts, including mine, with regards to people having problems upgrading their AP1200's with 802.11g modules:

This leads me to beleive that there may be some counterfeit modules out there on the market and so I was wondering if there is a facility on CCO to check the serial number and validity of the module I purchased?

I've fortunately been able to upgrade my AP with a genuine Cisco, however I'd still be curious to find out how geniune the 'faulty' module is, which I still have in my possesion.

If it proves to be counterfeit, then I'd happily supply the details of the reseller to Cisco!

Expensive lesson learnt!

If you have a message that contains "5501.img", then its most likely that the radio modules are for a different region. IT appears that the firmware base for each 1200 AP is tied to the region.
