Hi,

Does anyone know if Cisco will product a 10-Gigabit Ethernet Line Card for the Catalyst 4500? I know they have one for the 6500 Catalyst.

Also, does anyone know if Cisco will develop a simple 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch, like in the Catalyst 3750 or 3560 line?

Thanks.

As of now we dont have any 10GE line card on Cat4500. I think there will be one definately for sure.

We have come up with new 3750-E/3560-E swithces with intergrated 2X10GE ports. As of now not a switch with all the 10GE ports. Customers are using 10GE mainly between Distribution and Core layer so for that purporse Cat4500 and 6500 are doing the job.As of now customers are not using 10GE for access or for a high density port requirement for 10GE on a Fixed line of switches. If there is a need in future then you can expect one and it depends on how the industry is moving towards 10GE.
