Does anyone have a sample idle URL graphic for the 7970 phone? We have tried creating one following Cisco instructions but receive a Parse error 4 on the phone itself? Thanks.

Yes, this is the case. I tested it with a 7970. Any larger than 125x60 and you get the error you mentioned.

The following link explains the process of creating an idle url graphic.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00801c0764.shtml

The one thing not mentioned is that you need to put a copy of the .xml AND the .gif file in the C:\CiscoWebs\IPPhoneServices\CCMCIP folder.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

Can you tell me whether including the .gif file is also relevant for IDLE URL graphics? Of course for backgrounds they are.

Is there a link for the customisation of 7970 phones, for backgrounds, idle url's etc? Thanks

Yes, including the .gif is necessary for idle url graphics as well. Take a look at the following link.

We have tried many combinations but unfortunately still get the XML error [4]: Parse Error.

1)The path from the phone to the publisher is correct, http://xxx.xx.xx.xxx/CCMCIP/7970.xml

2)Have included the GIF file as suggested, in the same directory.

3) The picture dimensions are 320 x 234

Any help would be appreciated here.

The image can be no larger than 125x60 according to the following link.

Brandon is this defintely the case? As I believe this document refers to the 7940 and 7960 phones, the screen resolution is greater on the 7970. We have tried several combinations but no luck.

Yes, this is the case. I tested it with a 7970. Any larger than 125x60 and you get the error you mentioned.

Well done Brandon, seems like the idle image can only handle the 125x60 resolution. It's a shame that it cant handle higher res.

Thanks
