I have a 3745 router running 12.2 IOS. I am trying to rename some files in flash (name.old)and TFTP some new files in to test. This seems pretty straight forward, any help would be appreciated. Will rate.

copy bootflash:filename bootflash:

delete bootflash:filename

copy tftp: bootflash:

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I only have "flash" not "bootflash". When I do issue the command though, I get "error opening flash:new-name (Device in exclusive use)" Ideas?

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I do not have "rename" as an available command in any mode.

It does somewhat. I am unsure what a "class c" file system is in flash. Am I to understand that I cannot rename anything in my flash if the command is not available?

Will rate the response. Thanks.

Hi,

If you are unable to rename a file then you may want to copy that file to a new name (copy File2 file3)

then delete file2

Hope this Helps
