4404, DHCP and Static IP's on Projectors

We're running into a strange problem with a 4404 controller.

Even with the controller configured to "allow" devices to use Static IP's in conjunction with DHCP, it will not allow our Projectors to auth without being DHCP.

They Associate just fine, but they never Auth and equally are not allowed to communicate on the network.

Any advice in this regard would be highly appreciated. Changing the device to DHCP immediately 'resolves' the problem. In some temporary cases, we established DHCP with Reservations, however in some more remote cases, that luxury is not with us.

Thank you.

Christopher,

I think there is a problem with the supplicant in the projectors.

Authentication happens before you get an IP address. So I assume that when you give the projectors a fix IP address they skip the authentication. What you should do is a debug of your dot1x on the controller to see if the authentication starts up when you use the static ip?

Good luck,

Dimitri
