cm 4.2 dialing issue while on hook or dialing number then hitting dial butt

Recently upgraded to cm4.2. When dialing from our 7940's and 7960s some users are experiencing a problem whereby when they dial the number on hook and then lift the receiver, it dials the number real fast, but never completes the call.. the phone just goes back to a regular on-hook status immediately after the digits complete. This also happens when the person dials the number and hits the dial softkey. As I worked to duplicate it, it seems spotty but I was able to get it to do it several times...

Phone load p00308000400

Has not happened before the upgrade... Any ideas are appreciated. Also seems to happen on the 7920 wireless phone, but this may be more of a system issue... Do any of the cm system timers have any effect?

Hi Chris,

It sound like you might be hitting this bug first found in CCM 4.2;

CSCsb14724 Bug Details

Headline always use prime line = true -> on hook dial not working

First Found-in Version 5.0, 4.2

First Fixed-in Version 4.2(0.398), 5.0(1.050.009), 5.0(1.050.016), 4.2(0.406), 5.0(1.1000.002), 4.1(3)ES62

When you type a number while the phone is on hook and then hit a line button to dial this number, the phone forgets about the number and you get a dial tone.

Set "Always Use Prime Line" to TRUE in Service Parameters.

First hit the line button and then dial a number.

Hope this helps!

I don't actually get a dialtone, it just goes back to the regular on hook screen like ie quickly dials the number and shoots you right back to home screen... no connection, no dialtone...happens sometimes, not all the time... ???

Our prime line is set to false, however changing it to true would be a major issue. any other thoughts?

Does your Telco need overlap dial ?? If this is happening with Overlap Dial only, then it could be a variant of CSCsf32240
