I am testing the migration from IPCC 3.5.4 to 4.0.5. Everything went pretty smoothly but it installed MSDE instead of giving me the option to install SQL.
1. How do you upgrade to SQL from MSDE?
2. Is there a confirmed way of installing SQL on the newly imaged box before restoring the data?
3. Any other recommendations?
Thank you in advance for your response...
As you know, with an upgrade to 4.0(5), the CRS boxes are reimaged, and BARS is used to restore and migrate the CRS 3.5 data. This process seems to be quite reliable if a little quirky. When you install 4.0(5), there is a check-box to "Install SQL2k", on the screen where the IPCCX components are chosen. It will install MSDE at first as part of the base install. If this box is checked, then you will be prompted to install Cisco SQL2k. This must be the "Cisco SQL2k" (Disc 4), not any MS SQL2k CD. It can also be installed by inserting the disc at any point after the base CRS install.
However, note that as soon as this CD autoruns it will stop MSDE without any warning or user invention and before any confimation of installation is requested, so any inbound calls will be rejected!
