Hi all, with csma/cd, Is the actual process still used as we now use switches rather than hubs ?

It doesn't matter whether you're using a switch or a hub, if it's ethernet than it's csma/cd.
One of the advantages of a switch is that if only one host is plugged into each port of the switch (known as micro-segmentation) than you can turn off the collision detection (cd) on the host and switch by setting the duplex to full.

wireless is also subject to csma/cd.

Actually, 802.11 uses csma/ca (collision avoidance) not csma/cd.
